TUESDAY - MAY 4 - 24 HOURS OF PRAYER
The National Day of Prayer is coming up soon and The Rock of Gainesville is joining with local churches to pray during the 7 days leading up to the event. Each church has been assigned a day for around the clock prayer. Our day is Tuesday, May 4th. We are asking everyone to sign-up this Sunday at church and commit to a one hour time slot. The sign-up sheets will be on a table in front of the sound booth for you to select a time. We’re asking that you spend the time praying over our city, state and country.
WEDNESDAY - MAY 5 - 9AM - WOMEN'S PRAYER MEETING
We are launching a new prayer group! There will now be a Women’s Prayer Meeting every Wednesday beginning Wednesday, May 5th, from 9AM to 10AM in the Main Auditorium. The prayer meetings will be led by Louis Van Kirk and worship will be led by Sarah Pridgen. Childcare will be provided, so ladies, if you’re available, come and be a part of this powerful time!
THURSDAY - MAY 6 - 7:00PM - NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER
Hey everyone! Mark your calendars because you’re invited to the annual, city-wide Night of Worship & Prayer on Thursday, May 6th, at 7:00 PM at Westside Baptist Church. It promises to be an effective evening where the corporate body of Christ will declare words of faith over our city, neighborhoods, homes and people. Don’t miss out and come to link arms with other believers!
FRIDAY - MAY 7 - 6:30-9:00PM - WOMEN OF INFLUENCE: THE POWER OF ONE
What would you do if you knew it was impossible to fail? If money was not an issue, what would you choose to do and how would you choose to live? Explore the possibilities with Jill Nash, founder of WOI. Please join us for a delicious dinner buffet on Friday night, May 7th, at Albert's in the UF Hilton from 6:30PM to 9:00PM. Allen Tappe, a Life Performance Coach, will also make a guest appearance and be available to sign books. The cost in advance is only $20 and includes a delicious dinner buffet. SUNDAY - MAY 16 - WATER BAPTISM
Due to last week’s inclement weather, we have rescheduled our Water Baptism for Sunday, May 16th, at 3:30PM, at the home of Dennis and Debbie Suppe. If you have yet to be, but strongly desire to be water baptized, please head to the overflow room and sign-up on the Kiosk. There are also instructions flyers with directions in the foyer.
FRONT DESK HELP
As some of you may have already heard, the voice of The Rock Offices, the wonderful Ms. Chris Harrell, is soon set to retire. And as we approach her final day of work in June, we, the staff, are scrambling not knowing what to do. In the meantime, we’re looking for three faithful volunteers who are able to dedicate one day a week to cover our phones. All training will be provided, so if this remotely interests you, please call the church office and tell Ms. Chris you’d love to be trained by her!
GIFTS FOR COLLEGE GRADS
Attention college graduates! If you wrapped up your studies this semester at UF or Santa Fe, Pastor George would personally like to recognize this significant milestone in your life with a gift. Please stop by the Kiosk on Sunday to let him know your name and the degree that you have earned. Over the next couple of weeks, he will follow that up with a gift congratulating you for your hard work.
TRS: OPEN HOUSE
The Rock School hosts an Open House every Monday, 8am - 6 pm, for families who are interested in learning more about the school. During the visit, families will get a tour of the campus and have a chance to sit down with school staff to discuss the various academic programs, admissions requirements, and financial aid options. Call the school office this week and schedule a visit!
TRS: SUMMER JOB OPENINGS
The Rock School is currently seeking individuals to work with its preschool and elementary summer programs. If you enjoy working with children and are available to work 20 or more hours a week, please call the school office to schedule an appointment.
TRS: VOLLEYBALL COACH NEEDED
The Rock School is searching for people who are interested in coaching girls volleyball at the varsity level. Our volleyball team is looking to go to the next level and we need people who are dedicated to helping make that happen. So, if you, or someone you know, is interested in this opportunity, please contact athletic director Justin Harden at the school for more information. Go Lions!

Gainesville Community Ministries has a new store called GCM Emporium located at 818 West University Avenue and it’s in need of donations to fill up the store! Furniture donations are a top priority, but they are also in need of clothes, shoes, books, DVDs, art, and so much more. All proceeds go to helping our community and donations are tax deductible!
